Responsibilities

  • Designed and configured Battle Passes, Events and other reward tracks.

  • Authored, designed and implemented Gameplay Challenges for players to complete and earn rewards.

  • Collaborated with Game Modes Team to connect challenges and rewards to new game modes.

  • Worked with Live Team to build and maintain customization items and progression systems.

  • Identified logic issues to fix bugs for customization and progression systems.

  • Synced with Artists frequently to implement content into the game and be reviewed.

  • In the Playtest Lab every single day playtesting new modes, maps and events.

Reward Tracks

I helped in filling out the Battle Passes and other Reward Tracks for fulfilling progression.

Process:

  • Rewards that looks exciting at the end of each page - making the player want to reach for them, and see what is next.

  • Having a variety of items on each page so each one feels fresh without repetitive items.

  • Putting the best items at the end to incentivize completing the reward tracks.

Challenges

Halo3.png

I was in charge of Challenges for Seasons 4, 5, the next three Operations

Challenges were broken up by three difficulties:

  • Normal - Can complete in 1-2 games any game mode or weapon.

  • Heroic - Can complete in 2-3 games broad specifics of weapons and modes.

  • Legendary - Can complete in 3-5 games more specific modes and weapons

Challenges were prioritized to ensure players could complete them in most match, as to not feel like they are wasting time in a game mode they do not want to play, or has no challenges.

Challenge Swaps were considered for challenges to allow players to avoid activities they didn't want to play. Legendary challenges are where players are likely to use the consumables, adding to the game's economy.

Challenges were themed to their operation.

Metadata

Halo2.png

A lot of my work involved filling metadata for ALL items. Ensuring descriptions, icons, and other information on weapons were correct.

This also involved connecting related items together, such as armor pieces to a specific armor core, helmet attachments to the correct helmet, and more.

This work involved all customization items:

Armor

Weapons

Vehicles

Nameplates

Reward Tracks

Currency

Player ID
